Accessibility
Daniel wants everyone to be able to explore his music and work here. This site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and it is checked against those guidelines as it changes.
What’s in place
- Every page works with a keyboard, and there’s a “Skip to content” link at the top.
- Text and images meet WCAG color-contrast levels, and images have text descriptions.
- Nothing plays sound until you turn it on, and the sound button is on every page.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, the scrolling effects, animations, and drifting credits are turned off.
- Moving content can be paused: the credits strip on the home page has a pause button and holds still while you’re using it.
- Page structure uses headings, landmarks, and labels that screen readers can follow.
Known limitations
- Players and videos from other services. Bandcamp, Apple Music, YouTube, and Vimeo control their own players. Captions on videos depend on those services.
- The downloadable resource list. The Front Range fire ecology PDF is also published as a regular web page, which is the more accessible version.
